Coronavirus in Nigeria update: 86 new COVID-19 cases confirmed

Nigeria has recorded an additional 86 coronavirus cases according to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The NCDC made the revelation during its nightly update on coronavirus in Nigeria via its Twitter handle on Sunday, 21 March 2021.

According to the center, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 161,737  confirmed. The center also stated that 147,899 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus, known formally as SARS-Cov-2.

2,030 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. This means that the active number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigeria as of Sunday night, 21 March is 11,931.
