Nigeria has recorded additional 260 coronavirus cases according to the latest data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC made the revelation during its nightly update on coronavirus in Nigeria via its Twitter handle on 7th June.
According to the centre, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country now stands at 12,486. The centre also stated that 3,959 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from isolations centres across the country. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus, known formally as SARS-Cov-2.
Meanwhile, 354 people have died from COVID-19 related complications. This means that the active number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Nigerians as of the night of Sunday 7th June 2020 was 8,173.

The NCDC also apologised for wrong figures in their previous update. They went ahead to assure Nigerian that they are committed to reporting accurate test results.
Yesterday, we erroneously reported 7 new cases in Jigawa. Following further review, we can confirm that these were repeat tests for previously confirmed cases
