‘Religious joke’- Daddy Freeze labels pastor who sells anointing oil against coronavirus

Media personality and OAP Daddy Freeze, who is known as a popular critic of religion, has found a new reason to rant about religion after a pastor allegedly released anointing oil against coronavirus. The oil is allegedly selling at NGN13,000.

Recently, the news that the coronavirus hit Nigeria after an Italian expatriate working in Lagos tested positive to the novel virus, left the country in a state of near panic. Naturally, Nigerian citizens were a bit disturbed. And predictably, some people creatively thought out ways to swindle their fellow citizens of their money.

First, it was the news that face masks were being sold at NGN15,000 – quite outrageous! Now, we are hearing that anointing oil is being sold for its cure.

The founder and leader of International Godsway Ministries, Bishop Daniel Obinim, allegedly launched an anointing oil to safeguard his members from the deadly coronavirus. No, it is not free but rather the anointing oil is selling at NGN13,000 per bottle.

The Bishop allegedly said, Goldmynetv reported, that the anointing oil, which costs Ghc 200 is vetted and approved by Heaven’s Division of Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).

Reacting to this, Daddy Freeze writes on his Instagram page: “Haven’t they taken this religious joke far enough???

If I am to answer, it is a resounding yes. The pity is that many naive people will fall for this con. And to think that the law enforcement agents have not taken the “bishop” in for questioning. That too is a joke.
