Recall that the US government introduced the reciprocity fees in 2019 on the ground that its citizens seeking Nigerian visa pay more than Nigerians seeking the US visa.

Nigerians will no longer pay reciprocity fee when applying for American visas following its removal by the United States, the federal government has announced.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this through its spokesman, Ferdinand Nwonye, on Saturday, December 5, adding that the removal took effect from Thursday, 3rd December.

The ministry explained that the development was sequel to the removal of excess visa application, processing and biometric fees for US citizens applying for Nigerian visas.
