This latest account was narrated by a victim, identifying as Victor Antigha Essien according to his Facebook profile. He told how he and fellow travellers were stopped at a police checkpoint on the highway while on their way to Abuja. To begin, the so-called ‘officers’ not satisfied with searching the bus on which they were travelling on, decided to search their person. Did we mention there was no search warrant?
When nothing incrimination was found on any of the passengers, the policemen then asked for the receipt of one a laptop one of the travellers was carrying with them. Can you believe that? As if that was enough, the policemen even allegedly threatened to shoot them. There is no gainsaying it, it’s all pretence to extort money from the innocent passengers. Awful.
