The Lagos State Government has announced the closure of some COVID-19 isolation centres as the number of cases reduce in the country.
That’s a bit of good news in Lagos as the state has been recording a decrease in the number of positive cases of coronavirus since last week.
For this reason, the state government has relaxed some of the measures it had put in place to slow the spread of the deadly virus.
Also, three isolation centres in the state have been shut as they had less than 20% of their occupancy capacities.
This was disclosed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at Lagos House, Marina, during the 17th update on the management of coronavirus in the state.
According to him, the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH) in Yaba will revert to its status as a care centre to cater to all forms of infectious diseases.
However, the tent built at IDH premises by Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) will still function strictly for the management of cases of COVID-19.
