Arsenal have been drawn to play current holders of the FA Cup, Manchester City, while Manchester United will face Chelsea in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. The matches will be played on Wembley on the weekend of 18 and 19 July.
The semi-finals of the 2019-20 season boast of 3 of the most successful FA Cup winners, with Arsenal the record 13-time winners of the competition. United have won it 12 times, while Chelsea, has eight wins.
Also, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United side will play Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in a repeat of the final in 2018, which was won by the Blues.
Manchester United qualified by beating 10 man Norwich City on Saturday from an extra-time goal by Harry Maguire after Ighalo scored the opener.
The draw was made at half-time in the game between City and Newcastle, which Pep Guardiola’s side won 2-0 thanks to a Kevin de Bruyne penalty and a classy Raheem Sterling finish.
That game was took place after Arsenal knocked out Sheffield United, with Dani Ceballos scoring the winner in the 91st minute.
Chelsea also advanced to the semi-final after beating Leicester City at the King Power stadium earlier after a lone strike from Ross Barkley. Leicester City dominated the entire first 45 minutes but it was Frank Lampard’s tactical genius moment that changed the day.
The final of the FA Cup will also take place at Wembley on the 1st of August 2020 behind closed doors.
