Kanye, like Kim, also wants joint custody of their four kids —North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 23 months, and did not ask for spousal support.
Kim Kardashian earlier requested joint custody, meaning the pair would sort out a plan for sharing their children.
According to sources, Kanye’s response is very similar to most of the court documents Kim filed on 19 February 2021.
In his court filing, Kanye maintains that both parties should finance their own legal fees personally, and he also consents with Kim that neither of them should pay spousal support.
Kanye said the reason for their breakup was due to “irreconcilable differences”, and requested that their separate and shared property be decided ‘according to proof at the time of trial or settlement.’
A source close to Kim alleged that the SKIM founder and Kanye have carried on with their prenup and Kanye’s court papers also indicate that the separation is indeed ‘amicable,’ as the source initially hinted.
The couple was considered to be no longer on speaking terms earlier this year as Kanye spent most of his time in Wyoming.
And as soon as the rumours of an impending split began to spread, Kim officially filed for divorce two months ago.
A source at the time claims, “Kim was just tired of waiting. She tried to give it a chance. She wanted to do this last year. She gave it plenty of time but it’s just time to move on.
“There were no affairs. No one did anything bad. They grew apart.”
According to the same source, Kim’s aim is to prioritize her children throughout the separation, “She’s mostly worried about her privacy and kids. She’s a mama bear and protective of her kids.”
Forbes reported last week that Kim has joined the billionaire group and the Keeping up with the Kardashian star rocked Kanye’s footwear brand, Yeezys, in support over the Easter holiday.
Aside from raising four kids since their $2.8 million wedding ceremony in Florence, Italy, in 2014, the estranged spouses have been through a lot together.
