The original video exposed R. Kelly as a serial predator and led to his arrest for which he is now facing charges. The second promises to be more intense.
The second documentary will feature more shocking claims from women who have allegedly been victims of the music star.
His wife, Andrea Kelly can also be seen in the trailer, although she says she did not give permission for Lifetime TV to use her image in the documentary.
Andrea has revealed plans to sue the channel after they used clips from the first docu-series in the second one, which is set to be released in three parts.
Drea Kelly said in a statement to PEOPLE magazine that the company did not offer any follow-up support to herself or any of the other women who were involved in the documentary.
She said she received many threats following the first documentary where she gave an expose about her ex-husband, and the company did nothing to protect her from that.
As such, she stopped working with Lifetime TV and said she did not agree for her likeness or voice to be used in the new series, something that the TV did not honour.
“It was brought to Drea Kelly’s attention that [Surviving R. Kelly Part II] promotions, along with the introduction and various segments of the series portrays the likeness of Ms. Kelly despite her adamant requests and refusal to participate in said production,” her statement to PEOPLE reads.
“Ms. Kelly fears that it may mislead audiences to believe she was a full participant in the follow-up series. The history and actions that took place before, during and after the filming of the first documentary led Ms. Kelly to decline participating on numerous occasions, including as recent as June of this year.”
