Oscar award-winning actor Jamie Foxx is set to play Mike Tyson in a series that is based on the life of former heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson.
According to CNN, the project which is named, “Tyson” is to be executive produced by Martin Scorsese.
It had originally been planned as a movie starring Foxx, who won an Oscar for playing Ray Charles in the 2004 film, “Ray.” The series, written by Colin Preston, will tell Tyson’s incredible life story and how he made boxing history at just 20 years old.
In 2020, boxing icon Mike Tyson stepped into the ring again 15 years after he retired from boxing at the age of 39 as a legend. The stage was set on 28 November 2020 when Tyson, 54, faced Roy Jones Jr. who was 51.
Both of them had come out of retirement for the showdown and it was not a letdown. Despite ending in ‘an unofficial draw’, fans enjoyed all eight rounds of the fight.
