According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mackenzie added a whopping $30.3 billion to her net worth in 2020 alone as Amazon’s shares surged higher than ever amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
Amazon’s stocks rose from $2000 to $3500 in 2020 alone, taking Mackenzie’s net worth to $67.4 billion. This boost to her wealth has now taken Bezos to the top of the richest women’s list and placed her 12th among the richest people in the world.
Mackenzie Bezos divorced her famous ex-husband, Jeff Bezos in 2019 after news of his secret affair with former news anchor, Lauren Sanchez became public.
As part of their divorce agreement, Mackenzie received a quarter of Bezos’ Amazon shares, a figure which amounted to 4%. This made her the third richest woman in the world and the 22nd richest person in the world at the time.
Her ex-husband, Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world with a net worth of $205 billion. Microsoft founder, Bill Gates follows with a net worth of $126 billion.
