Nigerian-American Kechi Okwuchi has taken to her Instagram to announce that she has won a 2020 Anton Yelchin Artist Grant.
The excited finalist of 2019 America’s Got Talent, let us in on how grateful she is to the Anton Yelchin Foundation for believing in her. Recall that not too long ago, Kechi Okwuchi had taken to her Instagram page to school fans and friends on her to handle cyberbullying, after she had been a victim.
According to Kechi, who was a victim of cyberbullied because she posted pictures of herself as a bridesmaid at one of her friend’s wedding, “Never fight fire for fire… online bullies can’t take what they dish out and are only brave behind a screen.’” She went ahead to give a lengthy lecture on cyberbullying.
Giving information about the grant she got for her recording session in Austin, Texas this last weekend, she writes: “SAY HI to 2020 Anton Yelchin Artist Grant Winner in Music!!!
“Y’all!!! I’m so grateful to the @antonyelchinfoundation for believing in me. Without their help, I would NEVER have been able to fund my recording session in Austin this last weekend (more on that soon). They were exactly what I needed at the time that I needed it most. All I can say is that I’m grateful God led them to me.
