What happened to him?

In 2013 Michael Schumacher went skiing with his family and accidentally hit his head on a rock, which led to him suffering a serious brain injury despite wearing a helmet.

He was put in a medically induced coma and sent home to continue his recovery. His health condition was kept a secret, with his wife, Corinna, telling Reuters that he is “different”, but still recovering.

She further said; “He still shows me how strong he is every day. We live together at home. We do therapy. We do everything we can to make Michael better and to make sure he’s comfortable. And to simply make him feel our family, our bond.

“And no matter what, I will do everything I can. We all will. We’re trying to carry on as a family, the way Michael liked it and still does. And we are getting on with our lives.”

Netflix’s “Schumacher” aired on 15 September 2021 and features interviews with Schumacher’s wife Corinna, his father Rolf, his brother Ralf, and his children Gina-Maria and Mick, and interviews with prominent figures of Formula One including, Jean Todt, Bernie Ecclestone, Sebastian Vettel, Mika Häkkinen, Damon Hill, David Coulthard, and Flavio Briatore

It seems the racer will not be appearing in the film in his current state. We wish him a safe recovery.
