Embattled Kannywood star Rahama Sadau finally breaks silence on her blasphemy case.
Sadau had recently posted stunning pictures of herself in a barebacked dress on her social media pages, which drew heavy backlash from several Muslim enthusiasts, who condemned her dressing as offensive and inappropriate.
Following the heavy criticisms, Sadau tendered an open apology to the Muslim community and her fans.
Her apology seemed to have been ignored as she was alleged to be under police investigation because the photos she shared, triggered blasphemous reactions from her fans and other social media users.
An Islamic schooler Lawal Gusau, who is also a security expert, had written a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on 3 November 2020, demanding that Sadau be investigated for posting a photo of herself wearing a backless gown.
However, Rahama has come out to debunk the notion in a statement she released on Tuesday, 10th November, as she finally breaks her silence on the blasphemy case.
According to Sadau, she has not been invited by the police nor sentenced to jail by any court. She also pleaded with fans and followers not to spread false information about her as she has already been through a lot.
Her statement reads: “I have received many messages that I have been arrested and sentenced to jail earlier today. I have no idea where the news emanated from. I’m therefore calling on people to stop spreading FAKE and unfounded stories.
“I haven’t received any police invitation or court trial. I’m reiterating this to well-wishers that I’m SAFE and FINE and I have never received any legal trial for whatever reason. To those trying to bank on this issue to create an unrest, Please give it a rest..!!!
