During the show, a song titled ‘Doom’ by French producer, Coucou Chloe played in the background while the models strutted around and danced in Lingerie.
The song, ‘Doom’, samples vocals of verses of Hadith read in Arabic, which speak about signs of the day of judgement and caused a lot of outrage in the Muslim community.
Muslims have now taken to social media to call out Rihanna. A Twitter user said: “rihanna is responsible for this even if she didn’t choose the music. she hired her team and she must’ve heard the songs beforehand and just because she’s rihanna doesn’t give her a free pass to disrespect a religion”

Another wrote: “Rihanna is messed up for using a song with a Hadith in it to play at her LINGERIE show. What is up with artists using Islam as an aesthetic?? Have some respect.”
Another Twitter user said: “y’all don’t realize how disrespectful it was what Rihanna did. she didn’t use music thats in Arabic or anything. she used a hadith, hadith and arabic songs are two different things, and she used the words of our prophet,that are meant to guide muslims, for her lingerie show…”
At the time of writing this article, Rihanna and her team have not responded to the backlash.
This is not the first time that this has happened as well. In 2013, while on her Diamonds World Tour, she was kicked out of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi for having a photo shoot in the mosque.
Mosque officials said that part of the mosque was not typically open to visitors and Rihanna violated the sanctity of the mosque by taking pictures there.
