Napoli Is on the roll.
After the 13th week Napoli still tops the chart in the Serie A standings after they pulled off a 2-1 win against AC Milan who were as resilient as ever. However, they would need to watch their steps as Roma who also saw off an in form Lazio side on Saturday as well as Juventus and Inter are lurking in the shadows and waiting for a slip up to grab the lead from them.
Goffin Ends Federer’s hope of a Seventh Heaven.
Roger Federer who will finish the year as World number 2 had eyes on a seventh major title to end the season but the 36 year old Swiss legend was stopped by Goffin who has now set up a Final meeting with Bulgaria tennis player Dimitrov. The Bulgarian had thrown Jack Sock who won the Paris Masters out of the ATP Finals in London.
Bayern Extends Lead At The Top.
Though Dortmund had been slated to give the Bavarians a title run, it is not the case as Dortmund sit far off from them at the moment but Bayern Munich are not having it easy as RB Leipzig seems determined to keep the chase but after their 2-2 draw at Leverkusen, Bayern are opening up the gap as they thrashed Augsburg 3-0 to maintain a perfect start under the management of the recalled coach Hyenckes.
Premier League Top Four Hustle
It may not look like it for Manchester City who recorded another win against Leicester to extend their winning run (though mired by an injury to defender John Stones) and for Manchester United who beat Newcastle United 4-1 after an early scare and a goal from the returning Paul Pogba to cap it off. But for those below the second position, the hustle to stay there is high as Tottenham slipped to 4th after losing 2-0 to a brilliant Arsenal side and are just a point above Liverpool who beat Southampton 3-0. Meanwhile Chelsea have squeezed into 3rd after putting four goals past a hapless WestBrom outfit to pile pressure on the already under fire manager.
Barcelona Ends Weekend As Winners.
After the goalless stalemate between the two Madrid clubs, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, Barcelona are on the gaining side as their emphatic 3-0 win away to Leganes means that they now have 10 points lead on both Madrid rivals. Although Valencia are yet to play today and could reduce the lead to four points, Barcelona would be able to sleep with at least an eye closed for now to keep the threat to their position at bay.
