Timi Dakolo debunks stories he lost his father

Popular Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo has come out to state plainly that his father is alive and doing well.

Recall that Timi Dakolo had come on Instagram to post a farewell message to a “sir”, which caused a lot of speculations as to whether he had just lost his father.

At the time, Timi had written: “Thank you for the music you played for us while growing up, The reading listens, The Christmas clothes, the flogging, the go and face the wall, the one new word every day, the go and bring your books, the evening lessons, the show me your fingernails and your teeth and many more. Thank you for teaching me the importance of repetition.Thank you sir. We would miss you.”

Naturally, it was easy to speculate he was talking about his father, although we did wonder if he meant a former teacher. However, teachers usually do not buy “Christmas clothes” for their pupils and students, though some might do.

So, in the light of the mistake people made, an obviously irritated Timi took to his Instagram page to set the record straight stating that his father was alive and well.

“I didn’t say anything about my father being dead“, the singer writes on his Instagram page. He also uploaded a picture of a blog post that stated he is bereaved of his father. A seemingly annoyed Timi captions the image:

“You people should try and leave me alone.. my father is alive and doing well. I wonder how you people come up with all this information. I didn’t say anything about my father being dead. A simple investigation would do the world much good.”, Timi wrote on his Instagram page.

Why it is definitely a relief to know that the singer’s father was alive and well, yet someone died but Timi Dakolo has not said who the person was. His fans and followers just have to leave to mourn in private as he clearly wishes.
