The sequel to the movie has been sold to Amazon Studios for a reported 125 million dollars.
According to a report by Variety, ‘Coming to America’, which was produced by Paramount Studios will stream on Amazon Prime.
This deal was brokered as cinemas continue to be closed during the Coronavirus pandemic that has forced countries into lockdowns and forced studios to push back movie release dates.
Directed by Craig Brewer, the sequel will focus on Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) returning to America where he discovers he has a long-lost son.
The first ‘Coming To America’, followed the story of Akeem, a charming African prince who travels to America to get away from an arranged marriage. The classic grossed about $300 million at the box-office.
