Nollywood is on a roll with the most interesting movies this year, from Sugar Rush to Seven to Mercy Johnson-Okojie’s The Legend of Inikpi. Just last week, we shared the romantic drama, Dear Affy with you.
For this week’s Trailer Thursday, we’re bringing you ‘Who’s The Boss’, which is an Inkblot production in collaboration with Accelerate TV.
The film is about Liah, a young overworked Ad agency executive who is forced to invent a boss to keep her employer from finding out when her side-hustle startup ad agency wins a major contract. Things go from bad to worse as she gets increasingly more successful and she has to invent ever more crazy ways to keep her own boss from finding out.
It features Nollywood superstars Funke Akindele-Bello, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Sharon Ooja, Segun Arinze, Ini Dima-Okojie, Beverly Osu, Tayo Faniran, Bolly Lomo, among others.
The premiere of the movie was held in Lagos, and celebrities and influencers gathered in their best outfits to celebrate the movie.
‘Who’s the Boss’ is written and directed by Chinaza Onuzo whose writing credits include such major movies, The Wedding Party 2, The Arbitration and The Set Up.
‘Who’s the Boss’ is Onuzo’s first attempt at directing and from the trailer, he seems to have done a fantastic job.
He had this to say about the movie on his Instagram page:
“Over the last couple of years I’ve been more focused on writing and post production whilst Zulu runs production and so I missed out a lot on the key part of production.
“But with this film I was in the director’s chair and I got to be there every day and I got to experience the amazing people who work so hard to bring the magic to life. Anyway I can’t wait for all of you to watch this Labour of love when it comes out February 28th. As our people say: Anticipate.”
‘Who’s the Boss’ is set for release tomorrow, Friday, 28 February in cinemas nationwide.
