Monday Night Football: Timo Werner ends goal drought in Chelsea’s win; West Ham hammers Sheffield United

Timo Werner succeeded in ending his Premier League goal drought, scoring Chelsea’s second in a 2-0 win over Newcastle United on Monday night.

The hosts took the lead in the 31st minute through Olivier Giroud who came on in place of the injured Tammy Abraham.

Werner doubled Chelsea‘s advantage eight minutes later, ending a run of 14 games without a goal in the league.

After the break, Arrizabalaga, who was named in the starting lineup since October was called into action on a couple of occasions.

He went on to save Jonjo Shelvey’s free-kick and then kept out Joe Willock’s header.

The victory means Chelsea moved above Liverpool into fourth on the log after Thomas Tuchel’s 4th straight win as Chelsea manager.

They remain unbeaten in six games in all competitions since Tuchel’s arrival at Stamford Bridge.
