The Police in Argentina have launched an investigation into the doctor of late football icon, Diego Maradona, for possible manslaughter following the former footballer’s passing last Wednesday.
Dr. Leopoldo Luque has had his house and private clinic in Buenos Aires searched by Police to ascertain whether or not the death of the Argentine national hero had any connections to negligence following surgery.
Prosecutors trying to build a picture of Maradona’s final days with his family ordered a raid that saw some 30 police officers invade Dr. Luque’s house on Sunday morning, with another 30 at his clinic in the capital Buenos Aires.
Maradona, 60, lost his life in a fatal heart attack he suffered at his home, where he was recuperating from an operation on a brain blood clot earlier in November, and his daughters have demanded details of their father’s medication.
It is suspected that Maradona’s recovery period at home might have fallen short of the conditions of his discharge from the hospital.
Dr. Luque said on Sunday, in an emotional press conference that Maradona had been very sad during his last days and that he had done everything he was capable of to save the life of his friend, adding that he was cooperating with the authorities.
Officials want to know how often Dr. Luque visited his patient Maradona at home during this period.
I thought it was coronavirus that killed him?
