Serie A Roundup: Ronaldo missed a penalty as Juventus were held by Atalanta; AC Milan remains unbeaten

Juventus falters once again and are third on the Serie A table, four points off AC Milan after a 1-1 draw against Atalanta on Wednesday.

Alvaro Morata missed a golden opportunity to give Juventus an early lead in Turin when his decision to try to backheel the ball into an empty net backfired as his effort went wide.

Federico Chiesa, however, gave Juventus the deserved lead in the 29th minute when he curled in a majestic strike into the top right corner.

Atalanta pulled themselves back into the game with a belter of their own in the 57th minute through Remo Freuler.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed the opportunity to restore Juve’s lead four minutes later when his rather weak penalty was kept out by Pierluigi Gollini after Chiesa had been fouled by Hans Hateboer.

In the end, both sides settled for one point apiece.
