Bayern Munich Austrian defender David Alaba could be a Premier League player within a fortnight after rejecting negotiations with Bayern Munich over his future.
The versatile left-footed defender, who is entering the penultimate year of his contract with German champions Bayern, has been attracting a lot of interest from the Premier League.
Manchester City is one English side that already tried to lure Alaba this summer. However, their interest may have diminished as they had hoped to include the 28-year-old in their £55m deal with Bayern for winger, Leroy Sane.
Two more Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Chelsea have been reported to be keen on the Austrian defender, who is expected to start Bayern’s Champions League semi-final clash against Lyon in Lisbon on Wednesday.

Alaba is expected to decide his future after Bayern’s Champions League exploits are over.
If the Bavarians progress past French side Lyon, Bayern would go on to face French champions PSG in the final on 23 August.
On Saturday, reports in Germany suggest that Alaba’s advisor, Pini Zahavi, had held contract talks in Lisbon with Bayern’s chiefs.
Alaba however rejected the €15m-a-year deal Bayern have offered him leaving both parties pole apart in their discussion.
Alaba, who secured an eight straight Bundesliga title with Bayern is keen to match the club’s top earners including Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller, and Robert Lewandowski.
He has spent his entire senior career in Germany with Bayern Munchen since departing Austria Vienna as a youngster in 2008.
The summer transfer window will run for 10 weeks from 27 July and close at 11 pm on 5 October.
