Nigeria’s minister of youth and sports d evelopment, Sunday Dare, in a post on Twitter, has hinted at replacing Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr, following the team’s performances in their double-headed African Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Sierra Leone, which saw the three-time African champions perfom below par.
Nigeria has failed to win a game in 2020, drawing (home and away) against Sierra Leone, twice against Tunisia, and once against African champions, Algeria.
The Super Eagles squandered a four-goal advantage to draw 4-4 with the Leone Stars last Friday before a barren draw in the return fixture in Freetown on Tuesday, and this has sparked criticism from Nigerian football fans
The minister took to Twitter to question Rohr’s role as Super Eagles Coach, suggesting he could be left with a decision to make in the coming days.
The performance of the Super Eagles from their last two matches calls to question the suitability and competences of Technical Adviser, Rohr. Nigerian football deserves better. The needful will be done. Apologies to all football lovers.

Rohr’s contract with the Super Eagles runs until 31 December 2022, so if sacked, the former Bayern Munich and Bordeaux player will be due compensation.
