Download 20 10 20 – Burna Boy’s track addressing police brutality in Nigeria [MP3]

Burna Boy mourns innocent Nigerian youths who were shot at, wounded, and killed on the 20th of October 2020 while peacefully protesting at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos.

“20 10 20” addresses everything that concerns police brutality perpetrated by the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and the uprising of the citizens who called for the unit to be eradicated.

The title of the song “20 10 20” refers to what is now known as the Lekki Massacre as reports have it that Nigerian security forces fired on two gatherings of protestors on October 20 near the Lekki tollgate in Lagos.

On October 28, Amnesty International released a statement decrying government attempts to cover up the details of the massacre.

Burna Boy did one of the many things anyone could have asked for, which is a way of remembering the unfortunate event. He said: “I have not slept since 20/10/2020. I close my eyes and all I see is Lekki tollgate.”

Burna Boy’s latest album, “Twice as Tall“, was released in August 2020 and he used his recent appearance on the BET Hip Hop Awards to call for an end to police brutality while performing his song “Monsters You Made.”
