Davido can also boast of making a dance routine go viral across Africa after he released one of his biggest songs of all time “Skelewu” on the 17th of March 2014.
The Afrobeats tune is so difficult not to vibe to and whenever it comes on, there’s excitement in the air.
The song quickly travelled from Nigeria to the UK with renowned BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Trevor Nelson naming it as his favourite “Afrobeats” track a few months after it dropped, adding that “every time that comes on, I just wanna dance.”
As with Davido, controversy always lurks around the corner. He dropped two videos to “Skelewu”.
Sesan shot the first one but Davido rejected it and then contracted Moe Musa to shoot another one, which wasn’t met with a lot of enthusiasm either.
