Premier League: Leicester’s defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi back in training

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is back training with Leicester City after spending the last two months out injured.

The combative Nigerian midfielder – nursing a groin injury – missed his country’s double-header against Sierra Leone in their African Cup of Nations qualification games over the recent international break.

The 23-year-old has been on the sidelines for the past two months after requiring abductor surgery to fix an injury picked up in the Foxes’ 4-2 win over Burnley at the King Power Stadium, back in September.

Ahead of Leicester City’s trip to face reigning champions Liverpool at Anfield this weekend, Ndidi has been spotted at training as he intensifies his recovery to full fitness.

Ndidi has missed 10 games in all competitions so far for Brendan Rodgers’ men after his injury limited him to just two appearances in the Premier League.

Fortunately for Rodgers, Leicester have thrived despite his absence as they sit currently in the second position on the league table.

It has however not been the case for his national team the Super Eagles of Nigeria, who have failed to register a win in 2020 after back-to-back draws with Sierra Leone, as well as Tunisia and reigning African champions Algeria.
