“Hey Boy” was originally released in November 2020 with two other singles – “Together” and “Saved My Life” which Dua Lipa co-wrote.
Like the remix with Burna Boy, “Hey Boy” is off the soundtrack album “Music: Songs from and Inspired by the Motion Picture”.
The film itself, titled “Music”, will be released ‘throughout January and February. Sia is credited as director, producer and writer. It will star Maddie Ziegler, Kate Hudson and Leslie Odom Jr.
The film has drawn criticism even before its release because Ziegler will controversially portray an autistic teen while being an able-bodied person. Sia later conceded to making a mistake in the casting after initially trying to defend it.
The complete “Music: Songs from and Inspired by the Motion Picture” will be Sia’s ninth studio album. It will be released on 12 February 2021 and will contain songs such as “Together”, “Hey Boy”, “Saved My Life”, “Floating Through Space”, “Courage to Change”, “Hey Boy (Remix)” and more.
Other producers who also get credited on the album are Jack Antonoff, Greg Kurstin, Jesse Shatkin, Labrinth and Diplo. Meanwhile, children’s book author Dallas Clayton co-wrote the film.
