Popular comedian, Ayo Makun, also known as AY, has begged Nigerians on Twitter for forgiveness over his message of support for Funke Akindele over her arrest for violating government’s directive.
Funke Akindele-Bello and her husband were called out on Twitter, Sunday 5th April, for hosting a house party in their Lagos home during the ongoing lockdown. The Twitter uproar alerted the authorities and the couple were subsequently apprehended and arraigned to court.
Celebrities came out in their numbers to show their support for the Nigerian actress via their various social media accounts.
AY wasn’t left out of this as well as he took to his Twitter account to show support for the actress. However, his fans have come after him, dragging him for two days.
The mortified comedian has now taken to Twitter to beg fans to relent stating that he has lost all appetite since the onslaughts began.
“Twitterians, abeg na! Since yesterday my chest has been paining me with no appetite 4 food. The insults are too much. Can you all just reduce my sentence to joining @funkeakindele for community service and self-isolation from twitter for 14 days? I am sorry. Una pity person papa an,” AY writes in all caps on his official Twitter handle.
