Wallet “returned intact” 8 years after it was stolen

A Massachusetts woman whose wallet was allegedly stolen, had it returned eight years later with none of its contents missing (talk about “resurrection” of the dead in a manner of speaking!)

Nursing student, Courtney Connolly, said the wallet was stolen from her car one night while she was at work as an intern at a Massachusett theatre in 2009. She had left the windows of her car down only to return to find the wallet missing. Better than a movie plot, eight years on, the contents of the wallet were still intact including social security number, driver’s license, credit card and $141 in cash.

“I can’t even begin to explain it,” Connolly told ABC news (you’re not alone on that one Connolly). “I had completely forgotten about this wallet.” (Most people would have too, no doubt).

A police officer, whose name was not made public, hand delivered the wallet after a motorist threw it through the window of the officer’s car. (Hmm, if this wallet could talk, it can’t finish narrating of its ordeal with car windows). Connolly is only too happy to receive back her wallet, which was a gift from her brother eight years and which still has a fortune cookie message taped to it that reads “Soon you will receive pleasant new.” (Eh yeah, that’s kind of divinatory, don’t you think?)

May all who read this encounter their own “pleasant” news soon as well.
