Who should be TIME’s Person of the Year for 2020? This is the question that the news magazine poses on its recent press release. It invites the public to cast their votes.
It also says that the person or group of people must have had the greatest influence on the events of the year; “for better or worse” it adds.
Editors at TIME will choose the 2020 Person of the Year and announce the winner on 10th December 2020. You can vote through this link but to cast multiple votes, you will be required to sign up to receive newsletters and offers from the magazine.
Billie Eilish, BTS, Rashford, Anthony Fauci, Donald Trump are just some of the persons that you can vote for. The TIME Person of the Year has been its most famous feature and it was formerly known as Man of the Year.

In 2017, The Silence Breakers, people who came forward with personal stories of sexual harassment, were TIME’s Person of the Year. In 2006, You was chosen as the magazine’s Person of the Year. Obama won the award in 2008 and 2012, while Trump was chosen in 2016.
Controversially, Adolf Hitler was picked as Man of the Year in 1938. We cannot guess who (or even what) will emerge as the 2020 Person of the Year. Hopefully, not the coronavirus! This will not be so shocking as the inanimate personal computer (PC) was named “Machine of the Year” in 1982.
Definitely the Coronavirus
