Viral video of Quavo and Saweetie in an elevator fight surfaces

Social media users are revisiting Quavo and Saweetie’s breakup after a new video surfaced where the former couple was engaged in a physical altercation inside an elevator.

TMZ obtained the surveillance footage of the struggle, which went down at an apartment complex in North Hollywood and posted it online. According to sources, the incident occurred in 2020 when they were still dating.

In the video, Quavo and Saweetie appear to be fighting over a Call of Duty bag and he eventually overpowers her and pushes her to the ground. She stays down after the fight is over and when Quavo leaves the elevator with the bag she limps out after him, appearing to be injured.

Fans on Twitter are divided over the video with differing takes and opinions. Some say that Saweetie had first swung at Quavo at the beginning of the video and thus, the rapper had to defend himself from her. They even claimed that he had not shoved her too hard and she was likely being overly dramatic with the limp in the end.

Others opined that Quavo assaulted her and was clearly in the wrong. They added that these kinds of situations likely fueled Saweetie’s decision to break up with the Migos member.

Still, there is another group of online users who believe that the video was likely out of context because there is nothing to point out how it started or even how it ended. They said that there is likely to be more to the video.

Besides confirming that the video was from nearly a year ago when they were still dating, sources close to both parties also said that the elevator fight occurred in an apartment that Saweetie was renting.

Saweetie had announced her break up with Quavo citing “cheating, betrayal and hurt” as her reasons on her Twitter page on 19 March 2021. Also, following her tweet, Quavo also shared his own side of the story. According to him, Saweetie was not the woman he thought she was. He claimed that he still loved her and wished her the best but was disappointed in her.

The couple dated for two years starting in 2018 and their breakup took a messy turn after reports emerged that Quavo took back the $350,000 Bentley gift he gave Saweetie during the 2020 Christmas season.
