The groom, Jackson Muriuki, and his wife, Agnes Njeri, exchanged their vows on Saturday, according to Standard Media. Muriuki walked down the aisle on crutches and arm in arm with his bride, Agnes, who also used a walking stick.
The couple had been living together as man and wife since 1954 and had 13 children but never formally exchanged vows. Muriuki, who was flanked by his best man, Zacharia Githinji, described the ceremony as the best experience of his life and thanked God.
His wife said she was happy. “Happiness, happiness, more happiness,” she says, beaming.
“It is such a joy to experience something that I haven’t before and we did this so that we can be closer to God,” says Muriuki.
But you guys got married before you’re Late and that’s a thing of joy.

There must be a reasonable reason for the delay…

According to @Sidomex, they have being living together since 1954.
And if I can remember clearly those where the days of our grandfather’s, some of them didn’t know there was something called Church. They only married by tradition. So I guess that is part of what delayed them, because of lack of information.

Cohabiting all these while. But I’m sure they performed some traditional rites which still kept them at par. Our traditional marriage is still our white wedding it doesn’t mean putting on white certifies marriage.
He needs a position in church which is why he might have been pressured to complete the task. Congrat to them!!
