Monday motivation quote: These 5 quotes on mental health will help you get through the week
This week has been very heavy from the injustice going on in the world, and that is why today’s Monday motivation post is on mental health – one of the most important things right now.

It is quite a lot to take in: many people are suffering from damaged mental health as a result of being locked in for weeks on end o thanks to Coronavirus.

There is seemingly no end to that and in most cases, people only have phones and computers with which to connect to loved ones. Through it all, many people still have to keep working, while some are confronting life without an income as they have lost their jobs.

As if this is not enough, the injustice in the world is getting so much worse all over the world, from the brutal murder of George Floyd in America to the series of brutal killings in Nigeria.

In the midst of all this, it is important to take care of your mental health, to know when to take a step back and reevaluate how you’re feeling so that you don’t get overwhelmed.

It’s possible to feed your mind so much bad news that it gets so overwhelmed that you can’t function properly in other areas of your life. So, for Monday Motivation, we will share five quotes on mental health that will help you properly deal with the week.

  1. “What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candour, and more unashamed conversation.” – Glenn Close
  2. Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.” – Fred Rogers
  3. You don’t have to be positive all the time. It’s perfectly okay to feel sad, angry, annoyed, frustrated, scared and anxious. Having feelings doesn’t make you a negative person. It makes you human.” – Lori Deschene
  4. Sometimes self-care is exercise and eating right. Sometimes it’s spending time with loved ones or taking a nap. And sometimes it’s watching an entire season of TV in one weekend while you lounge around in your pyjamas. Whatever soothes your soul.” – Nanea Hoffman
  5. “There is no standard normal. Normal is subjective. There are seven billion versions of normal on this planet.” – Matt Haig.

No matter what goes on in your mind, remind yourself that it is just a phase and it will pass. Take the time you need to reset your mind and your feelings and never forget to prioritize yourself.
