What do you do if you don’t like a police mugshot of your person?
Most normal people would let it slide, thinking there’s nothing they could do about it, or so we would imagine.
Not so, one British guy, who goes by the name Stephen Murphy, who wasn’t pleased with the mugshot the police released of him. So, he sent them a selfie to remedy the slight.
Stephen Murphy, 33, is wanted by Lincolnshire Police for failing to turn up to court in Boston on 9 July to answer criminal damage charges, according to an article on Lincolnshire Reporter’s website. The article had appealed for information regarding Murphy’s whereabouts to be sent to the Lincolnshire Police.
However, Murphy, a former model criticised the newspaper and police for using the “worse picture of me“, along with a selfie.
“And if you get my name right and don’t put the worst picture of me on, when I’ve been up for three days in Boston cop shop, you might be able to find me. Post this, it’s better for you.”
Reacting, Chief Inspector Jim Trafford, of Lincolnshire Police, says per the BBC: “We are aware of some social media posts from a person claiming to be wanted man Stephen Murphy.
“Should Mr Murphy himself wish to come forward and attend Boston Police Station, we will be more than happy to speak to him.”
