Flight ET302 to Nairobi had just taken off from the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa on Sunday when the pilot reported safety issues and requested for permission to turn back. Sadly, it crashed a few minutes later killing all 157 people onboard.
Also, a Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX 8 flight crashed on October 2018 over the Java Sea killing all 189 people on board.
Currently, there is no evidence of a link between the crash. However, similarities between the two have prompted caution among airlines.
Following its principle of “zero tolerance for safety hazards,” the Civil Aviation Administration of China has ordered on Monday that all domestic Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets be out of the air by 6 p.m. local time.
China has one of the world’s largest fleets of Boeing 737 MAX 8, operating 97 of the planes, according to Chinese state-run media.
