Botswana Government Cautions Citizens
The government of Botswana through its Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation has called on her citizens to exercise “caution” while travelling to and from South Africa.
The call comes in the wake of the latest wave of xenophobic attacks that target other black Africans especially Nigerians living in South Africa.
The travelling advice published on Twitter reads in part:
“The Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation wishes to advice all Batswana travelling to South Africa to exercise extreme caution in light of recent developments resulting in violent unrests in some parts of the Republic of South Africa.
“The Ministry further cautions Batswana residing in South Africa to also avid areas where unrests are currently occurring and encourages them to remain vigilant at all time.”
