Breaking! Coronavirus in Nigeria jumps to 254 as 16 new cases confirmed

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 16 new cases of Covid-19 in Nigeria bringing the total number of confirmed Coronavirus infections in the country to 254.

According to the NCDC, 10 of the newly discovered cases were recorded in Lagos state, two recorded in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, two in Oyo State and one in Kastina and Delta states respectively.

Sixteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 10 in Lagos, 2 in the FCT, 2 in Oyo, 1 in Delta and 1 in Katsina.

As at 09:30 pm 7th April, there are 254 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Forty-four has been discharged with six deaths,” NCDC writes on their official Twitter handle.

The case discovered in Delta state is the state’s first case since the outbreak of the virus in the state. With the 10 cases discovered in Lagos State, the total number of cases in Lagos has skyrocketed to 130. Lagos State still remains the state with the highest number of cases.

At present, the total number of discharged cases has hit 44 with a total number of 6 deaths. The total number of active cases in Nigeria is 204.
