Zambian schoolboy stuck in a tree by supposedly spiritual forces

Just like this Zambian schoolboy who was stuck between a tree’s cleft allegedly by spiritual forces according to stories circulating on the internet.

If you’re a parent, you advise and then hope and pray that your kids are safe because you’re not with them 24 hours every day. You can’t even be with them 24 hours if you want to because the reality of the situation is that most parents just have to combine career and child rearing. It’s a tough call, you know. One paycheck is not enough anymore for most households.

So this kid was captioned on camera stuck inside a tree. Apparently, he had been playing around the vicinity of the tree, of which an unnamed old man had reportedly warned children to stay clear. But kids being you know kids will play. Moreover, their curiosity will take them to where the dead fear to tread. Well, they say “the housefly that does not hear will be buried with the corpse.” And that was more or less the fate of the young chap who got stuck in the cleft of the feared tree.

The incident is said to have happened in rural Luapula Province of Zambia. and was reported by a Facebook user identified as Andrew Mwansa. He writes:

“Wonders Shall Never End!!!

“According to a WhatsApp message, the boy belongs to one of the rural primary/community schools in Luapula Province. A schoolboy was trapped in a tree cleft whilst playing. The old men have long been advising the children not to play around the feared tree but as usual, children disobeyed the order. The villagers have long believed that the tree is spiritual and has resisted uprooting for many years.

“Efforts by community school to try to rescue the boy failed as the more they tried to pull him out, the more squeezed he was getting until the grey haired old men and women went there to plead with the spirits of the tree to free the boy as he was innocent. After a black chicken sacrifice, the tree freed the little boy and he was back in class learning happily. Surprisingly, he was found without a scratch.”

Not that the present writer believes in superstitious story. The boy may just have had luck and hopefully, he was safely rescued. Having said that, let those that have ears, hear.
