Emma Stone is the highest paid actress of 2017

Emma Stone leapfrogs  Jennifer Lawrence to be named Hollywood’s highest-paid actress according to the newly released Forbes’ annual list of best-paid actress.

This marks the first time Emma Stone made the list. The British actress earned $26 million for the 12 month accounting period (earnings between June 1, 2016 and June 1, 2016), with most of the money coming from her pay from her appearance in the movie-musical “La-la land.” She also won an Oscar for her role in the musical.

Second on the list is Jennifer Aniston, who made $25.5 million though most of the money comes from product endorsements – think Emirates airline, Smartwater and Aveeno. Last year’s top ranked actress, Jennifer Lawrence took the number three spot with $24 million.

Only Emma, Jennifer and Friends star Jennifer Aniston made it past the 20 million US dollars benchmark in 2017, compared to four women in 2016.

Emma won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in the musical La-la land.

The only newcomer to the list is Emma Watson, who came in at No 6 and made $14 million. Together, the world’s 10 highest-paid actresses tallied a combined $172.5 million. Estimates are pre-fees and pre-tax and are based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders.
