Sidomex Universal’s Alter Ego wins Best Intentional Film at the Peoples Film Festival

Sidomex Universal’s Alter Ego, a film about sexual abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder (PSTD), is this year’s winner of the Best International Film at the just concluded The Peoples Film Festival (TPFF) held in Harlem, New York, from 30th May – 3rd June 2018.

TPFF was a 4-Day annual film festival designed to showcase the best in independent films from around the world, The festival features screenings from emerging producers, videographers, and filmmakers from all over the world. This year’s edition marked the seventh consecutive year organisers have hosted the festival.

A Moses Inwang film, Alter Ego follows Ada Igwe (played by Omotola Jalade Ekeinde), a respected and feared human right lawyer by day with a passion for carnal pleasures at night, who was molested as a teenager by a teacher thereby changing the course of her life. Driven by a quest for redress and helping the underdog, Ada Igwe made it a mission to assist victims of sexual abuse to get justice and to see that offenders are punishing including employing unorthodox ways.

This is not the first accolade that Alter Ego has received since its release last year, the film also won the Special Jury Award for Outstanding Film at the Africa Film Festival held in November 2017 in Lagos.
