Zoe Kravitz to play Catwoman in the next Batman film

Actress Zoe Kravitz has been confirmed to play Catwoman in the next Batman film, reports say.

The actress will be starring opposite Robert Pattinson as young Bruce Wayne in the film, which is expected to be released in 2021.

Batman’s director Matt Reeves confirms the cast in a Twitter message, a gif image showing Zoe saying “Hello” on a phone.

Zoe had previously provided Catwoman’s voice in 2017’s The Lego Batman Movie. Her parents are rock star Lenny and actress Lisa Bonet. Lisa is now married to Jason Mamoa, himself the Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe. So, Jason is the stp-father of Zoe.

He congratulated the young actress on her cast, writing alongside a photo of them together: “I’m so proud of u Zozo bear. On and off-screen OHANA. DC WB ohana Lola and Wolfie’s big sister is CAT WOMAN. Unbelievable so freaking stoked. You’re going to have so much fun Aloha P bear.

Production for Batman is expected to begin in early 2020, while the film will hit the cinemas on 1 June 2021.
