Chance The Rapper pushes back tour after wife Kristen delivers a new baby

With Chance The Rapper, it’s family first.

The American singer, whose real name is Chancelor Jonathan Bennett is postponing his proposed tour after his wife, Kristen Corley, put to bed their second child, a baby girl they have named Marli.

Chance made the announcement on Instagram as he reminisces what a great year this 2019 has been for him, noting that the demands of work and personal life have been “strenous” so he needs to prioritise.

“I thought it over for the past week and I’ve decided to push back my tour,” he writes “This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc. “But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work.

Chance says he missed some of the most “most important milestones” of his first daughter, Kensli, because he went on tour two weeks after she was born. He said he was not there when his wife needed him and he does not want to repeat that mistake.

His words: “When Kensli was born, I went on tour 2 weeks later and missed some of the most important milestones in her life, but more importantly I was absent when her mother needed me the most. At this point as a husband and father of two I realize that I can’t make that mistake again. I need to be as helpful and available as possible to my wife in these early months of raising Kensli and Marli.

Chance apologised to his fans for the tour push back, whichh he will now undertake from 15th January 2020.
