Prince Harry and Megan Markle threatens British media over private pictures

Prince Harry and Megan Markle have threatened to sue British media over pictures taken of them.

Photographs of Megan Markle taking a hike in a public park on Vancouver Island with baby, Archie, and two dogs were released on the internet.

Apparently, the Duke and Duchess were not happy with the release of those photos since one of the reasons they highlighted for stepping back from the senior royal duties was an intrusion from the press.

The lawyers of the duo have threatened lawsuits against British media outlets who buy or publish unsanctioned photos of the couple. This comes after the Daily Mail published the photo of the Duchess, baby Archie and her dogs. The pictures were reportedly taken by Canadian paparazzi hiding behind a bush.

The royal couple claims the pictures were taken without permission. The letter claims trailing (by paparazzi) the couple have crossed the line into “harassment,” and that “there are serious safety concerns about how the paparazzi are driving and the risk to life they pose.”

Prince Harry’s mum, the late Princess Diana had died in a motor car accident as she while fleeing from paparazzi in Paris. This happened in 1997. At the time, the princess was divorced from Harry’s father, Prince Charles, and was dating Egyptian’s Dodi Al-Fayed, son of billionaire Mohammed Al-Fayed. No doubt, the trailing of the paparazzi is bringing it all back home to Prince Harry. Prince Harry was 12 years old when Princess Diana died.

According to NBC, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a cease-and-desist letter through their attorneys on Tuesday, 21 January 2020.

Previous attempts to secure pictures of the couple in their home using long-ranged lenses by Canadian paparazzi were also criticised.

The Duke and Duchess are clearly bent on living a very private life away from the press. And like everyone else, they right to a private life deserve to be respected.
