A few weeks ago, Kunle Afolayan held a press conference to announce the beginning of the journey for his new film, Citation.

Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola’s daughter, Temi Otedola is set to make her debut in the film that follows a young female postgraduate student at the University who is dealing with harassment from a lecturer.

Kunle Afolayan said about the film: “CITATION will create awareness on the different forms of violence against women and girls in the public and private sphere. It will educate the society on women’s rights and the ways to enforce these rights for the achievement of equality and tranquility.

“The movie will encourage and embolden women to stand up against mistreatment and abuse by a patriarchal society. It has also been designed to propel women to aspire to become successful leaders and thereby provide counterexamples to negative gender stereotypes.”

The film stars Joke Silva, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Ini Edo, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Adjetey Anang, Gabriel Afolayan, Bienvenu Neba, Sadiq Daba, Raymond Reboul, Toyin Bifarin, and Wole Olowomojuore, aka ‘Baba Gebu’.
