Nigeria’s Bose Omolayo has been shortlisted for the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) July Athlete of the Month.
Bose Omolayo made the shortlist alongside four other athletes, all of whom also had remarkable outings last month. According to IPC, Omolayo was being considered for the award because of two feats she recently accomplished.
Firstly, the 30-year-old won her first world title at the World Championships held in Kazakhstan in July. Secondly, she beat China’s Xu Lili, who was considered the strongest athlete, by successfully pushing a 142kg lift – smashing the world record in the process.
