‘Manchester United move is a dream come true’ – Odion Ighalo says as he arrives in Manchester [video]

Ighalo has shared how joining the Red Devils has made his lifelong dream come true after joining the English side on loan until the end of the season.

Ighalo was signed on by the team from Shanghai Shenhua in a dramatic deadline day signing that had football fans at the edge of their seats, waiting to see if Ole Gunnar Solksjaer would finally end his search for a striker.

The striker, who scored 10 goals in 8 games while he was at Shenhua will be tasked with helping Manchester United to reach a coveted top-four spot in the Premier League.

Ighalo is the first Nigerian football player to play for Manchester United since Mikel Obi turned down the offer and defected to Chelsea.

He has landed in Manchester United from China and spoke to Sky Sports after his arrival. He said:

“It’s a dream come true because since I was a kid I followed and dreamt of Manchester United.

“But it is a reality now. I cannot say much more now until I get started. It’s been crazy. Obviously, I am happy to be in Manchester first of all.

“This is a great opportunity for me and I am grateful to God, and to my agent, and the coach who has given me this opportunity to be here.

“I am happy to be here and to work out with the team and finish very well this season.

“The plan is to just chill today because I travelled a very long way from Shanghai to Manchester.

“Today is to just rest and tomorrow we start to work.”
