Nigeria becomes first team to qualify for round of 16 at 2019 AFCON

Super Eagles of Nigeria are the first team to qualify for the round of 16 at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

A 1 – 0 win against Guinea at the Alexandria Stadium yesterday, 26 June, confirmed the Eagles’ qualification to the next round after defender Kenneth Omeruo scored the only goal in the match.

The Super Eagles who also defeated Burundi 1 – 0 last week now have six points in the group stage.

On Sunday, Nigeria will face Madagascar for their final group stage game before going into the round of 16.
