Beyonce’s curated The Lion King: The Gift featuring African artists is out! Stream it here

Finally, the 19th of July is here and fans of everything The Lion King may rejoice.

Not only is the film hitting the cinemas today, Beyonce’s The Lion King: The Gift album inspired by the film and is “a love letter to Africa” is out and you can sample the songs right here.

The album features quite an impressive number of Nigerian artists including in the ilks of Mr Eazi, Yemi Alade, Tekno, Burna Boy, Tiwas Savage and Wizkid. Ghana’s Shatta Wale made the cut as well. Also featured in the album are JAY-Z, Blue Ivy Carter, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Pharrell, Tierra Whack, 070 Shake, Major Lazer, among others.

Beyonce curated and produced the album. However, DJ Khaled is listed as a producer on Mood 4 Eva, the collaboration between Beyoncé, JAY-Z, and Childish Gambino.  Syd is credited as a co-producer on Otherside and Diplo co-produced  Already. The 14-track album is interspersed with 13 interludes of scenes from the movie and Beyonce’s enthralling song, Spirit, which is also on the original The Lion King soundtrack is included.
