Chidinma‘s latest song is a slow soulful number titled, Nobody’s Fool, which is the soundtrack for the film the upcoming film, The Herbert Macaulay Affair.
The Herbert Macaulay Affair is an Imoh Umoren’s film that is based on the life and times of one of Nigerian’s premier nationalists, Herbert Macaulay. The events of the film took place in the early 20th century at the height of the British colonialism. In addition to Herbert Macaulay’s grandson, Wale Macaulay, the film also Kelechi Udegbe, Phillip Jarman, Stanley Matthews, Tubosun Ayedun, Sunday Afolabi, Mary Kowo, and more.
Chidinma lend her sonorous voice to the soundtrack, which was released a few days ago and is available on YouTube.
In keeping to the era of the time, Chidinma wore a vintage Victorian number, complete with hats and gloves as she sings: “I Am Nobody’s Fool, Nobody’s Tool To Be Used And Abused.”
This could be either a reference to a love gone awry or more likely, to the struggles of the time.
The Herbert Macaulay Affair hits the cinemas on the 25th of October, 2019.
